Method and limitations
How VerifySport forecasts work
A useful forecast explains the estimate, the factors behind it and where uncertainty remains.
1. Estimate three outcomes
Each match view separates the estimated probability of a home win, draw and away win. The three values total 100% and should be read together.
2. Use current provider data
Fixture, score, team, league and standings data are supplied primarily by FootAPI7 through RapidAPI when the selected competition supports that coverage. FlashLive Sports and SportAPI7 are retained as automatic fallbacks. VerifySport calculates home, draw and away estimates from current league scoring and defensive records, then normalizes the displayed values to total 100%. These estimates are not represented as guaranteed accuracy.
3. Show uncertainty
Confidence describes the strength and consistency of the model signal. It does not mean the outcome is guaranteed. A high-confidence forecast can still be wrong.
4. Keep timing visible
The Live view shows when the app last checked the feed. The screen checks approximately every 15 seconds while it is open, while provider responses use a short shared server cache to protect the purchased API quota. Forecasts are regenerated from the latest cached standings data.
Model governance
- Document the active data source and permitted use.
- Do not claim a fixed accuracy rate without a reproducible holdout evaluation.
- Monitor missing or delayed inputs.
- Review provider methodology or coverage changes.
- Never describe a forecast as a guaranteed outcome.
Responsible positioning
VerifySport is designed as an independent sports analytics product. It does not convert probabilities into betting odds, link to bookmakers, accept deposits or facilitate wagers.
